Confidence – Don’t Dwell on the Negative

November 1, 2008 – 10:15 am

I keep returning to the idea of confidence. I think it’s a VERY important point. Successful people exude self confidence. Failures are not the end of the story, they are what lead to success. 401K statements are going to be coming out soon for many people and unfortunately I suspect that may change peoples outlook on the economy. I was talking to someone the other day that said they had cash saved aside for a vacation, but with all the bad economic news they thought they might better wait. They had the money to do it, but their lack of confidence in the economy was making them reconsider. I asked what they thought would happen if EVERYONE did the same, things become a self fulfilling prophecy.

Where am I going with this?

Where I’m going is this simple statement…. lack of confidence breeds failure, confidence breeds success.

Think of all the things that people accomplish, the amazing wonderful things that people do and achieve. Usually, these things are done because they didn’t accept that it couldn’t be done. They believed it was possible and they wouldn’t listen to those that told them it couldn’t be done.

Think about your goals NOT your setbacks.

Are you confident?
