Strange Problem with Google Analytics Code

Does anyone have any clue why when I insert either the legacy urchin code, or the newer google analytics code into this site there is a “shield” of sorts over the first page and a half (scrolling). You can’t click on ANY links. It’s as though there is an object superimposed over the page.
Strange!
For the meantime I’ve disabled the google analytics. For reference. I tried a different theme for the site (which matches that of another site of mine.) Interestingly I got the same result, so I looked at THAT site to see if it was having the problem and it isn’t. Maybe it’s an interaction with the newer style adsense ads?
Anyway, sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused. (I know it was an issue with firefox – I don’t know if the same happened with other browsers.)
